Solutions for strategic adaptation planning in European cities

RESIN Stakeholder Dialogue
1 February 2018, 09:00 - 17:00
Manchester, United Kingdom
Sackville Street Building, Manchester M1

This event will bring together city practitioners, critical infrastructure providers and experts on climate change adaptation and resilience in cities for a one-day event to make connections, exchange knowledge and plan for future collaboration on urban climate change adaptation.

The cities of Greater Manchester and Bratislava will open a dialogue with their peers from the cities of Burgas, Vilnius, Radom, Sfantu Gheorghe, Lahti, Newcastle, Reykjavik, Ghent and Nijmegen to explore possible solutions to the challenges and stresses the cities are currently facing as a result of climate change, particularly in light of the resilience of critical infrastructures.

Hear how your organisation can more easily and effectively make decisions to build resilience and adapt to climate change as part of a coordinated framework, with the help of a new suite of decision-support tools co-developed by cities and researchers.

Meet local government representatives and researchers working together for resilient infrastructure across Europe. Hear about approaches to building city resilience in countries such as Belgium, Finland, Poland, Iceland, Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania, The Netherlands and the UK. Consider how, with their vital role on the frontline of adaptation, Cities across Europe can shape, learn and drive transferable solutions to climate challenges. Learn more about the practical tools currently under development which can help them now and in the future in guiding the identification of risks, assessment of their interdependencies and impacts, and selection of effective adaptation solutions. Find out how these can benefit your organisation.
