This CEN Workshop has been initiated by the Smart Mature Resilience (SMR) consortium members, project funded by the EU Horizon 2020 program. The workshop will propose a definition of ‘city resilience’ and it will set out steps to follow for the practical implementation and operationalization of city resilience at local level. Furthermore the workshop will describe tools and it will give guidance for the resilience building process.

The CEN Workshop agreement might be helpful for local administration staff members engaged in sustainability, climate adaptation, resilience, environmental planning as well as strategic planning by providing guidance and training on resilience. The workshop might also be helpful for any other city stakeholders working on resilience.

The kick-off meeting will be held on 08 November 2017 in Thessaloniki. All interested parties are welcome to register for participation and submit comments on the draft Project Plan to Workshop Secretary, René Lindner no later than 31 October 2017.

9:00 to 10:30 - Joint introduction to both CWAs (i.e. info about procedures)

10:30 to 12:00 Formal establishment of each CEN Workshop (incl. revision of project plan) in two different groups

o Group 1: ‘City Resilience Development – Maturity Model’

o Group 2: ‘City Resilience Development – Operational Guidance’

12:00 to 12:30 – Coffee Break

12:30 to approx. 14:30 working on the content individually in each of the two CWA groups

The final deliverable of this Workshop (CEN/CWA) is expected to be finalized in May 2018.
