Regional Workshop: Central Europe + Standardization Workshop

Guiding local resilience planning in European cities
15 February 2018, 10:00 - 16:30
10787 Berlin, Germany
DIN e.V. premises, Burggrafenstraße 6
The Smart Mature Resilience project has developed a European Resilience Management Guideline for resilience-building in cities, with a particular focus on the three challenges of climate change, critical infrastructure and social dynamics. This guideline is supported by five tools: the Resilience Maturity Model, Resilience Information Portal, Risk Systemicity Questionnaire, City Resilience Dynamics Model and Resilience Building Policies. The tools are now available for the cities to use. SMR is holding four regional workshops to share these tools with the project's group of Tier 3 cities as well as new "Tier 4" cities.

The Central Europe Regional Workshop will take place in Berlin and will focus on the uptake of SMR tools for tackling relevant hazards for Central Europe, namely extreme weather events, failure of infrastructure, storms and flooding, getting collective feedback on the European Resilience Management Guideline and reinforcing city-to-city collaboration through co-creation activities on resilience. The workshop is aimed at participants from the Tier 2 and Tier 3 groups of SMR + further Central European cities with the view to potential new members of the SMR Tier 4. The workshop will be combined with a Standardization workshop organised by German standardization institute DIN on CEN Workshop 92 City Resilience Development: Operational Guidance.
